Race?

was at Irwindale last night with the Notchback. Had big hopes after doing a bunch of suspension work since the car was bone stock underneath. It was better, but i couldn't hook at all. Need to work on dialing in the new stuff and get the weight transfer working for me again. Best was a 7.96 @ 89mph in the 1/8.
This is actually almost exactly what ran at Fontana in the 1/4 (12.4 @ 109) and was hanging the left front tire with the stock chassis but leaving on the transbrake at about 4500 and HOOOOKING! This is like getting rearended by an F-350!

interesting...

Spent the day getting Ron Burgundy back together...just pulled it off the lift, backed it out of the shop to let it warm up...i think i hurt it. The #3 cylinder was the worst from the head gasket let-go and the car sat for a little bit until i could get back to it...there was some funkiness on the cylinder wall that i just figured i'd see what happens...smokes a little out that side now...D'oh! maybe it will go away.........that and i suspect the O2 sensor is toast after going to antifreeze raging waters. Oh well, two day until Irwindale, if i can just make one good pass and get kicked out for being too fast without a cage!!

Been busy at work lately...working real hard...doing burnouts and breaking stuff since this video was shot i replaced the stock trans with a Performance Automatic AODE/4R70W with a transbrake and full manual valvebody...it was killer for about an hour and 30 minutes until i blew a head gasket...555 lb-ft of torque is fun in a 3000 pound car.... Race? 5.0 update

I know a bunch of you were wondering about my 5.0 Mustang notchback with the turbo...well after a day of dyno tuning and settling on 441HP and 555 lb-FT i think the transmission was dying inside even though it seemed fine at the end of the day. Well...i put a driveshaft loop in in, a big tranny cooler with a built in fan, and bolted the drag radials on to drive it home for the first time and about 1/4 way into my commute home i sensed the stock AOD was not doing well. overdrive was toast and it didn't like shifting in any fashion...no Irwindale for me that week. We were hoping the car would be too fast for not having a cage and be asked to leave...
So the unexpected push to ramp up the go fast program started. Performance Automatic built a killer AODE/4R70W for us and i am just waiting for the converter from Precision Industries and hope to have it fixed by next thursday to race...again, hoping it will be too fast.
