Race for scalps?
How is this for one amazing race bike. Put this on the street and watch-out free world. A pal shared this with me and I thought it would be rude to not share this scout with you. Anyone know who this may be? I'll send ya a sticker pack if ya do!

3/4 Scale Salt Shakin'
My friend David's little Bonneville bike. This was before it hit the salt, and you can imagine what it did to all of that bare metal. The bike's all blown apart now and coming back together with a pre-unit transmission, paint, and different geometry. Being that it's a race bike, I'm pushing him to use a front end and brake that are lighter. Great little machine, and David has done nearly all of the work himself.
For reference, here's what one looks like stock.

Dashing
Getting the new/old dash setup on the '37 UL. Took a while to round up all the parts, but I'm loving it.

Almost free paint job
So here is some simple arithmetic, $500+ in materials(quality, not pretend play paint)
15-50 hours in labor or more
Prep
Polish
Pinstriping
Shop
not including the thought process required to put together a successful layout/color combination
And we have something few people respect enough to want to pay for.
Well this Saturday some lucky someone is going to get a $2000.00 paintjob for $50.00
Why?
Because I support my friends and I support the hard working individual, the dreamer, the person who believes they have a lucky day coming to them in the form of a deep kandy apple blue, carribean murano scalloped pnut tank and fender!
Good luck
Ps, yes I still have to stripe this, but it will be beautiful and the IPhone just can't capture the brilliance of paint that was manufactured 40 years ago...

Love cycles 2013
We had a great, crazy, cold, wet, relaxing trip to Jeremiah's annual anniversary shin dig. This year it was a campout at Bartlett lake north east of Phoenix.
Just what the doctor ordered. More pics to come.

1939 Knucklehead hillclimber Trans
Pretty neat old early harley 4-speed Trans from a 1939 knucklehead. Huge sprocket over the early 4 stud '36-40 clutch drum sprocket! Crazy side cover to delete the kick start but still work the clutch push rod. My friend Matt Olsen says the case must be late '39/early '40 with the counter bored breather plug area plus the D9 date code on the case and jockey lid. Neat.
