Born Free 4 paintjobs

This past month I've been painting around the clock(amongst many other things) to get these 4 jobs done for the show. And I did. So stoked to be out of the spraybooth. Saturday is going to be so AWESOME!!! See you there.

Born-Free this Saturday.

There will be more amazing bikes gathered in one place for one day here in America than just about any other event I can think of...maybe even world wide. This is our time, and this is the place.
So many people are pushing themselves to build the best they can and ride these machines thousands of miles to be and do something they will never forget. Thanks to everyone that's driven to create, ride, draw, weld, photograph, paint, write, organize, teach...and on and on.
See you Saturday, be safe.

Zippo and Case

The family and I will be heading back east soon to visit family and friends. While we're there, one of my favorite consumer-type things to do is visit the Zippo and Case Knives factory. As far as 'Made in America' goods go, these two companies are near the top of the heap for me. The giant lighter above is one of the street lights that line Zippo Drive.  They look neat at night, but I don't have a picture handy, sorry.

A bunch of years ago Zippo bought Case Knives. Both companies are located in Bradford, PA. Much as always, I will buy a nice limited edition pocket knife, and over the course of the coming year I will lose it. Somewhere at the center of the earth there is a gnome with all of my knives and missing socks. Our paths will cross someday.

In Flames

Our pal Brent was looking for some real 3.5's a while back. I offered up a pair I had covered in pearl, with the option of purple panels, red scallops, or caramel crab-claw flames. He made an excellent choice.

Race?

was at Irwindale last night with the Notchback. Had big hopes after doing a bunch of suspension work since the car was bone stock underneath. It was better, but i couldn't hook at all. Need to work on dialing in the new stuff and get the weight transfer working for me again. Best was a 7.96 @ 89mph in the 1/8.
This is actually almost exactly what ran at Fontana in the 1/4 (12.4 @ 109) and was hanging the left front tire with the stock chassis but leaving on the transbrake at about 4500 and HOOOOKING! This is like getting rearended by an F-350!
Stay tuned as the quest to get kicked out for going too fast without a cage continues!

i know most of you would rather see pics of bikes, but this is a lot of fuN! That's me on the left.

Hey buddy

Picked up a good friend of mine at the airport today. He's here for a month painting one of the builders bikes for born-free.
I took this shot from the back seat of another good friends lowrider Pontiac. Good to see you mark.

Sometimes...

I paint watercolors. And sometimes they are of your 1969 shovelhead that only cost $25.00

Weekend continued

The weekend

This weekend came and went. The nash's art show was fun, joes trike made it's debut, I tried to work on the flathead, but didn't get far. I did get the front end back together. I also replaced the tank mounts on the frame, as well as the brake stay, and fixed the bashed in seat post (I still have a piece in my eye). The motor is bolted in and I am going down the road of final assembly.
