Chuck's Little 45

Sorry for the lag on sharing stuff from Seattle lately. Work has been nuts, I'm coaching our little dude's basketball team, and I've been putting some pretty serious time into getting fast. At-any-rate, this is my friend Chuck's little 45. It's a great little bike and he's had it for 6 or 7 years now, I think.

Not the fastest horse in the stable, but a reliable one, and that's worth a lot.

As you can see, Chuck got a little 'Poon on his tins, which is never a bad thing. That was a few years back when Jon was up visiting. Man, where does the time go?

WTB 18" HD Knucklehead/flathead wheel

I need an early Harley 18" rim/wheel with a star hub. Like what would be on a knucklehead, big twin Flathead, or the back of a 45. Would prefer a whole wheel, but would take just the rim. Tire not important.
email grant@getchoppedout.com if you have one

1966 Shovelhead Project for sale

I have a 1966 Shovelhead project for sale. I was building it as if a guy had the old Gen Shovel and didn't want to buy a new bike back in the late 70s/early 80s so he just upgraded his. It is a project but a good one if you like the following:
Stock '66 swing arm frame with brand new high gloss black powdercoating
A pretty original motor that ran when i pulled the bike apart, super E carb
4-speed trans
Enclosed belt drive
Choice of stock early E. start primary setup or modified inner and custom aluminum outer for kick only
dual disc 35mm frontend with calipers, rotors, lines, and controls
round swingarm with a disc setup
near NOS early FXR mag wheels with NOS white letter Goodyear tires, 19" and 16"
brand new steel repro early sporty tank
Late '70s/'80s FXB shovel seat
Early Superglide rear fender...probably more but that's all i can think of now.

The bike is pretty much apart as i type this, had it sold and that fell through and i would rather work on my UL than this, but i will be putting this together in the meantime. It should be a roller soon with the freshly powdercoated frame. The more i work on it the more money i will ask. Here are some pics to give you an idea of what i was building. Sorry the one is so bad of the last time it was all together, it was a pic taken of a pic on my old phone...
No title as of yet, but once it is a roller i can get it done easy for $140 legitimately. Will ship worldwide and can drop off at shippers in Carson, CA.
email grant@getchoppedout.com to buy or you can come see everything in Orange, CA at the Cycle Lodge.

Tanks a lot

New tanks for the UL. The story is that they came off old man McGuire's race bike from McGuire HD in the bay area. Too bad they for the paint stripped off them, there are orange remnants very close to the orange on my Shovelhead.
Not factory WR tanks but I guess that's what they were going for.

Happy Birthday

Yesterday was Dave Polgreens Birthday.

Thank you for being a friend.

Stay classy

I know most of you could care less about my mustang and before I owned this gem I would feel the same way...but 500 horsepower and under 3000 pounds on the street is fun...

My work rented the 1/4 mile track at Fontana tomorrow which will be a hoot. I miss Irwindale. Hopefully I will break the 11.50 mark. The car "should" go 11.27 if it hooks...then I'll put the new motor in and be low 10s high 9s!

Race?

How do you spell relief?

The UL cylinders i got from righteous joe had a rough relieving job done to em some years back so I am evening them out and polishing them as best I can. Still gotta do the bowls.

MC5 Bassist dies

Last friday Michael Davis (the bassist of the LEGENDARY band the MC5) died. What a bummer. I almost had the band lined up to play Born-Free 3...take care up there. I tell anyone that remotely likes the MC5 to find  copy of the documentary A True Testimonial and watch it...THAT is Rock & Roll.

Where are you buddy

Had an alf lunch box in second grade now there are too many cats in our new neighborhood... Alf would be a great and hilarious way to get rid of them.

So much for that...

last night after i posted about going back to Irwindale this week for the drags i got a text from Jimmy White that  they suddenly pulled the plug on the long standing race track...look out 135th and Main....looks like there will be a rise in street racing...

Race?

Going to Irwindale this Thursday to run the mustang with the new posi. Hoping it hooks and I go low 11's and get kicked out for going too fast without a cage...and yes I am a preferred contractor.

Panhead project sold

SOLD

To forward my big twin flathead project I am letting go of my panhead motor parts. I have a very nice set of freshly rebuilt early Panheadman with new valves, seats, and guides. No broken fins, very clean, never run and ready to bolt on. Includes pan covers and intake. Also have cylinders, a nice '49 right case with no cracks, a little welding has been done on the motor mount very nicely and is ready to match to your left case. Also includes '52 flywheels, an early oil pump and a brand new 8 rib cam cover. There are early lifter blocks too, but one is broken on the bottom.
Would prefer local pickup in orange county, California.
Email grant@getchoppedout.com to buy.
I have more pictures if you need.
